Helen Harris Rexrode, 84, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs.
She was born July 22, 1930 in Highland County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Frank Harris and Bessie Halterman Harris.
She was married to Herbert Floyd Rexrode who preceded her in death on December 1, 1992.
Mrs. Rexrode was employed at Homestead Resort in the laundry department with over 30 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and working puzzles.
She is survived by 4 children, Hilda Green & husband James of Columbia, Tennessee, Herbert Franklin Rexrode & wife Ella of Warm Springs, Linda Puffenbarger & husband Terry of Warm Springs and Timothy Rexrode & wife Veronica of Roanoke, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at Warm Springs Cemetery with Donald Lee Altizer officiating.
I worked with Helen at the Laundry when I was a senior in high school. There was never a dull moment. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed.
