Thomas “Tommy” Leon Anderson, Sr., 67, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home.

He was born March 12, 1950 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Leatrice Joyce Anderson Woodard.

Tommy was retired from the Homestead Hotel.

He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he was an usher and a board member.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed all types of sports, especially basketball.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Doris Faye Crooks Anderson of Hot Springs; children, Thomas Leon Anderson, Jr. of Hot Springs, Mary Leatrice Anderson Morris and special friend Henry Saucier of Hot Springs;  grandchildren, Ambriatt, Alexis, Hezekiah, and Nore-Asia; brother, Rev. Samuel Anderson and wife Annette of Roanoke; and sisters, Joyce Woodard of Roanoke, Dreama Woodard of Clifton Forge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, as well as two brothers, Marion “Flea” Woodard and Bernard Woodard.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Piney Grove Bapist Church with Rev. W. Ed Mansfield officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hurst Cemetery.

  1. Tommy was fun to play ball with. Every time I seen him I would say “hey Tommy” and he would always say :RIGHT NOW!!!~” He will be missed.
