Lois Marie Williams Flenner, 69, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.

She was born April 6, 1954, in Hartland, Maine, the daughter of the late Clyde Edwin Williams and Lois Gwendolyn Webber Williams.

Ms. Flenner worked as a Recorder in Medical Records at the Kennebec Valley Medical Center for over 20 years.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, which her granddaughters referred to her as “Banana”. She enjoyed the mountains of Virginia and the wildlife that was always in her backyard at Mountain Crest near the high school. Her neighbors and the community were kind during her battle and Jason & Jennifer are so grateful.

She is survived by her two children, Jason Michael Pongonis and his wife, Rhonda of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and Jennifer Marie Pongonis of Bunnell, Florida; four grandchildren, Claire, Layla, Apple, and Ashley; a great grandchild, Evelyn; four brothers, Clyde, Alan, Joel, and Daniel ; six sisters, Cynthia, Barbara, Patricia, Margaret, Beverly, and Norma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha; nephews Troy and Luke; grand-nephew, Jack; and nieces, Jasmine and Wendy.

A memorial service will be held in Maine at a later date.

  1. I was a good friend of Lois in her last months , I miss her dearly . I’m just thankful I had the opportunity to meet & spend so much time with her . This truly broke my heart . I hope to see this dear friend again in another lifetime <3
