Johnny Reid Arbogast, 70, of Millboro, VA passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at his residence.
He was born November 3, 1953, in Bath County, the son of the late Fred Lee Arbogast and Florence Carlson Arbogast. Johnny was a retired heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Life Line Ministries and a lay speaker at Living Stones Ministries Church.
Johnny was a good-hearted man and dearly loved his family and friends. He would help anyone in need at any time without hesitation. He always liked a good story or joke and had a hearty laugh and good sense of humor.
He was a true outdoorsman and spent a lot of time enjoying nature, fishing with his son and going camping with his brother and friends. He was a long-time member of LRORRSCS Camping Organization. He loved good food and honed his camp cooking skills with his fellow skunk callers. Johnny’s cousins remember him as being mischievous and somewhat of a prankster.
Johnny especially enjoyed bluegrass music and taught himself to play the guitar.
He welcomed any opportunity to jam with his friends.
He is survived by a son, Danny Arbogast of Millboro; a granddaughter, Ariel Nicole Gordon of Clifton Forge, Virginia; great grandchildren, Jace, Jolon, and Jax all of Clifton Forge; a brother; Freddie Carlson Arbogast & wife Cathy of Charlottesville, Virginia; and a sister, Betty Haddix of Millboro.
I remember Johnny from living near Millboro my school years and going to school there. My parents thought a lot of his parents. He had a nice personality. Funny. Remember him from his music also. Saddened by his death. Prayers and Hugs for the family. My parents were Palmer & Mary Rhea.
