Darrell Miller Broce, 97, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center.

He was born May 11, 1927, in Bath County, Virginia, the son of the late Luther Hale Broce and Bessie May Cline Broce.

Mr. Broce was a mechanic for Boeing Industries in Maryland.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Merchant Marines having served during WWII.

He enjoyed playing golf and traveling. Over the years he lived in many parts of the United States.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Juanita Broce of Hot Springs; nieces and nephews, Lori Skeens & husband Mike, Frances Broce, Vincent Broce & wife Dee Dee, Douglas Broce & wife Natalie, Merv Broce, Timothy “Tab” Broce & wife Angie, Pat McCauley, and David Forbes & wife Cindy; and numerous great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mary Barker Broce; brothers; Frankie, Carl “Skinner”, and Clarence “Sticks” Broce; sister, Elsie Forbes; a nephew, Ricky Forbes.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Union Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Bill Gram officiating.
