I grew up with Mike. Always such a good person. Thank the lord you were in his life.
I have no idea as to what may have happened in his life.
Surely know he was a great person. Will never ever forget him.
Sincerely
Peggy Ryder
I am David A. Peery and I am also from Bath County originally. I now live in Mechanicsville outside of Richmond.
I saw the obituary for Mike in the newspaper for Bath, Highland and Allegheny counties. I was saddened to learn of his passing.
Marshall Hart, who started in first grade with us, lived in the same subdivision as I do, and his widow saves the old papers for me thus I saw the obituary.
I left Bath County in 1965 and only occasionally visited my brother there so I knew little of what was happening in Bath.
I did not know Mike lived in Richmond. I would have liked to see him had I known.
We started first grade together at Ashwood School and graduated from Valley High School together. Mike and I were on the same baseball team and the same football team the one year I played. I remember him as the catcher on the baseball team and an interior lineman and running back on the football team. I did not know that Valley High had a swimming team. We were friends but did not have interaction outside of school. He must have been a good student as I do not remember us ever being in the same class room and the teachers being after him like they were after me.
May he rest in peace.
David
