Myrna Louise Grimes Hooker, 87, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.
She was born April 12, 1939, in Reader, West Virginia, the daughter of the late David Hansen Grimes and Dolly Lou Burgess Grimes.
Mrs. Hooker retired from the Homestead Resort where she worked as a secretary.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working puzzles, painting ceramics and all crafts.
She was married to the late Larson Wayne Hooker who preceded her in death on January 12, 2021.
She is survived by five children, Susan Gwin, Mike Hooker & wife Sandi, Debbie Ryder & husband Barry, Ricky Hooker & wife April, and Jimmy Hooker & wife Mindy all of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren, Katie, Danny, Jessica & husband Kyle, Jamison, Tye, Luke, Carter, Aubryn; three great grandchildren, Dawson, Caden, and Joanna; a brother, Lynn Grimes & wife Linda of Dunmore, West Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Linda Grimes of Elkins, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kaye Grimes & Terry Grimes; and a sister, Mary Jackson.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Union Chapel Cemetery with Donald Lee Altizer officiating.

I am so saddened by this news. Myrna and I made many precious memories raising our children together. I also worked with her at the Homestead for many years. She was a very special lady and she will be loved and missed forever. May God comfort you all through this difficult time.
