Leroy Lemon, 80, of 52 Galveston St, SW, Washington DC, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Fox Chase Home in Silver Spring, Maryland.
He was born May 11, 1932 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Fred Joe Lemon and Katie Lily King Lemon. He was married to the late Rosa M. Lemon. Mr. Lemon was employed as a postal worker. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by three children, Deborah Porter, Denis Gavin & husband Norman and Donna Small & husband Arthur; 7 grandchildren, Robert and Seneca Porter, Matthew Mann, Mustafa and Nuriya Gavin and Samuel and David Perry; 3 great grandchildren, Kamayah, Kaleb, and Myelle Porter; and a devoted friend, Rene Lemon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Peery.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend W. Ed Mansfield officiating.
