Hot Springs – Lina R. Giles, 97, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Thursday, April 04, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
She was born May 20, 1915 in Highland County, Virginia, the daughter of the late David C. Rodgers and Percilla Stevenson Rodgers. She was married to the late Leroy W. Giles who preceded her in death on November 4, 1983.
Mrs. Giles was a retired housekeeper for a number of private homes. She was a member of Lifeline Ministries. She enjoyed her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Leroy Giles, Jr. & wife Gerry of Woodbridge, Virginia, William M. “Buddy” Giles of Indiana; one brother, Holmes Rodgers of Bacova, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Stephen Giles, Ladonna Knight, Leroy Giles III, Timothy Giles, Linda Rosquist, Thomas Giles, Scott Giles, Patricia Hall and Jonathan Giles; fifteen greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Giles was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Rodgers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery . Pallbearers her grandsons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10-11:00 a.m..
