Anna Clementine Andrews King, 86, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Monday, December 02, 2024, at her daughters residence in Evans, Georgia.
She was born August 29, 1938, in Covington, Virginia, the daughter of the late Kenneth Andrews and Clementine Jackson Andrews.
She was employed as a housekeeper for Kings Victorian Inn. Prior to that she worked as a secretary for Home Oil & the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church.
On December 15, 1956, she married Leslie “Les” Eugene King, Sr. her husband of almost 45 years. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2001, just 3 days prior to their 45th anniversary.
Anna loved her flowers, especially yellow roses and was a member of the Hot Springs Garden Club. She also loved birds, especially hummingbirds. She was a member of Virginia Chapel Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is now united with her beloved son, Zachariah “Zach” Kenneth Lee King who preceded her in death on December 10, 2004.
She is survived by three children, Leslie “Gene” King, Jr. and wife Kathy of Mountain Grove, Virginia, Christopher Clay King of Greece, Wendy Ann Kate King Sprools & husband Jamie of Evans, Georgia; grandchildren, Scott Eugene King & wife Holly of Gunnison, Colorado, Susan Elizabeth King Lock & husband Dr. Rory Lock of Boston, Massachusetts, Gabriel Sprools, Sophia Sprools, and Zachariah Sprools all of Evans, Georgia, Riley King of Greece; great grandchildren, Henry Eugene “Huck” King, Poppy Debbie Ray King, Theodore Henry Lock, Ruby Claire Lock; twin brothers, Ronnie & Donnie Andrews, Kenneth Andrews.
In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debbie King; brothers & sisters, Bob, Betty, Frances, Tilley; and a brother-in-law, Henry Lee King, Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024, at Virginia Chapel Church with Pastor Bill Gram officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Sprools, Gabriel Sprools, Zachariah Sprools, Kory Ray, Donnie Andrews, Ronnie Andrews, Phillip Layman, Kenny Woodzell. Honorary pallbearer will be Jay Ford.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Virginia Chapel Church.
