Helen Jane Shaffier, 81, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Shaffier was born July 11, 1937 in Bath County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl Oliver Grose and Margaret Helen Thomas Grose.
She was employed with the Homestead Housekeeping department with over 37 years of service. Helen was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed working in her flowers, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by seven children, Jackie Kincaid, Dennis Kincaid and wife Wendy, William Kincaid & wife Tonya, David Kincaid & wife Pam, Eugenia Marie Kincaid and Karen Kincaid all of Hot Springs, Mary Kincaid Riddleberger & husband Brian of Greensboro, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, George Grose & wife Marie of Hot Springs; two sisters, Anita Marie Marcum & husband Grover of Churchville, Virginia and Joan Thomas of Covington, Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28 at Virginia Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at Mrs. Shaffier’s residence, 28 Sunrise Terrace Road in Hot Springs.
