Joseph “Ronnie” Morris, 72, of Craigsville, Virginia died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, the son of the late Joseph S. and Lois Crawford Morris. Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army before retiring as a pipe fitter with Morris Brothers Plumbing. He attended Estaline Valley Church of The Nazarene in Craigsville. He was a member of the Staunton Moose Lodge and Craigsville VFW Post 9480.
He is survived by three brothers, Gerald Morris & wife Amy of Waynesboro, Virginia, Michael Morris & wife Libby of Craigsville, and Keith Morris of Staunton ; a sister Doris M. Wade of Staunton; his favorite niece, Shelly Sensabaugh, with whom he shared the same birthday; a special niece; a great niece; and special friends, Carl White and Frankie Bowden; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Morris; and a brother, Garland “Butch” Morris.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Curry officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2216.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home or anytime at the home of Shannon Crawford in Craigsville.

Ronnie was a great friend. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He always had a joke or story that could make me laugh. Whether it be at the VFW, at Carl Whites garage, or helping load/unload food for the area foodbank I shared a lot of good times with him. He will be missed. All the family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have known Ronnie most of my life. His daughter Debbie and I were good friends. Im so sorry that the family has lost their brother. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God keep you in your time of need. May God bless you. May God comfort you and help you through your loss.
