Joyce Jeanette McManamay, 67, of Staunton, Virginia died Saturday, November 04, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was born November 25, 1949 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Hugh Vernon McManamay and Ollie Torrence Hoover McManamay.
Joyce was retired from the Staunton Steam Laundry where she worked on a presser machine.
She was a loving sister. She loved animals and enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Staunton SPCA. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by a special friend, George Montgomery of Staunton; three sisters Carol Adkins and husband Hershel of Warm Springs, Virginia, Diana Botkin and husband Johnny of Millboro, Virginia and Sue Boothe and husband Tom of Salem, Virginia; a half-bother, Hugh “Skip” Vernon McManamay, Jr.; a half sister, Marlene McManamay; her cat “Smokey”; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Swearengin.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Warm Springs Cemetery with Reverend Carl Golden officiating.
