Phebe Delman Cambata, 95, of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 04, 2025, at her residence.
She was born September 5, 1930, in New York, New York, the daughter of the late Albert Delman and Alma Fleisher Delman.
She was married to the late Kershi Shiavax Cambata. Together they built a life that spanned continents. She lived in India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A true adventurer at heart, Phebe’s travels took her from Uganda, where she marveled at the gorillas; to the Arctic, where she witnessed the white harp seal pups – just two among the many safaris and journeys she so passionately undertook.
Phebe was also a dedicated philanthropist. She served on the Board of the Shenandoah National Park Trust and devoted much of her energy to animal advocacy. Supporting the Wildlife Center of Virginia was one of her greatest passions, reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her beloved German Shepherd, Zeke.
A private funeral service was held.

So sorry to hear of Phebe’s passing. What a wonderful lady who opened up her home to many ski instructors and friends. A long time Club Member at The Homestead who always stopped in to say hello when she was in town. Prayers for all of her family
Thanks guys!
She was and still is very fond of you.
Bruce
Our deepest condolences to the whole family over the loss of dear Phebe. We first met her at the Ski Area at the Homestead Hotel, she just loved skiing. We were often together at the Wldlife Center which she so generously supported because of the love of animals. Our prayers are with you, she will be missed by many.
Sending love and prayers, Hella and Cecil Armstrong

I miss the conversations I used to have when I visited Benny.
My dear cousin Phoebe who I spent so many young
Youthful days with in New York City & visited her & kershi at their lovely house in Ft.Lauderdale. And a boat ride the same day in their beautiful boat. She was a delightful person. One last lunch at the Hotel Pierre with our cousin Vivian was fun. A dinner in Florida with her & Bruce was my last time to be with her. My best love to her entire family. Jewel

I’m so very sorry for your loss! I worked so very closely with Phebe on the making of all her draperies and cushions throughout her home. We had such a great time. She was a special lady that I thought of very highly and will have fond memories of.
