William Dennis “Dennie” Hull, 73, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at his residence.

He was born May 12, 1951, in Highland County, Virginia, the son of the late Glenn Morton Hull and Nellie Gum Hull.

Mr. Hull retired from the Homestead Resort in the laundry department.  Prior to that he worked at Bacova Guild and later for the William Grover family.

He was a faithful, steadfast member of Faith Covenant Family Church. Dennie was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He especially loved to hunt deer, cut wood and being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed tinkering with old cars. He was a loving husband, stepfather, and step grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Billie Jo Scaggs Hull whom he married October 5, 1991; stepchildren, Kelley & husband Nick Ellis of Richmond, Virginia, Jon Shelton of Minnesota, James Crawford of Virginia, and Missy Crawford of Virginia; several step grandchildren; special friends Brandon Tucker & Missy Swearengin both of Warm Springs, Virginia; and numerous cousins.

A special thank you to Intrepid/Agape Hospice in Clifton Forge for the kind and caring service that they provided.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Shaver & Jeff Strasser officiating.

  6. So sorry to learn of Dennie’s passing. Worked with him in laundry for awhile. Last saw him and Joe at cancer fundraiser in Hot Springs. He was a kind and friendly man. I was blessed to have known him.
