William Scott “Scotty” Ailstock, 52, of Paul Siple Drive, Hot Springs, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at his residence.

He was born August 8, 1972, in Richmond, Virginia, the son of William Don Ailstock of Covington, Virginia and Elizabeth Ann Callahan Ailstock of Hot Springs, Virginia.

Scotty was an employee of Lindsay’s Electric & Home Improvement LLC. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed working on vehicles and was a dedicated Miami Dolphin fan. “Dusty” his Pitt Bull was his pride and joy, along with his 6 cats. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to all.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Joyce Siron & husband Tim of Covington, Virginia, Dianna Woodzell & fiancé Michael Kincaide of Warm Springs, Virginia, Eddie Ailstock & wife Melissa of Bolar, Virginia, Steven Ailstock & fiancé Lisa Dillow of Hot Springs; special brothers, Clinton and Brian Cauley; nephews & nieces, Justin Woodzell & wife Debra of Warm Springs, Brandon Siron & friend Teresa Woodzell of Goshen, Virginia, Shyenne Ailstock of Millboro, Virginia, Abigail White & husband Corey of Monterey, Amelia Rose Ailstock of Bolar, Dalton & Austin Ailstock both of Staunton, Virginia; great nephews, Logan & Miles Siron of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents John & Agnes Callahan and Charles & Margaret Ailstock.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Robertson officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Siron, Brandon Siron, Justin Woodzell, Steven Ailstock, Eddie Ailstock, Mason Ailstock, Jimmy Rodgers, and Jeffrey Hamilton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hot Springs Fire Department or the Hot Springs Rescue Squad at P.O. Box N, Hot Springs, Virginia 24445.

    • I feel so blessed to have the pleasure of knowing Scotty. He always had a big warm smile and such an amazing heart! He was always one who would lend others a helping hand. Both my family, kids and I will always cherish our amazing and smiling memories we shared with him. He will always live on with us and so many others he’s touched. Scotty you are gone too soon and will be missed so very much. To his family my heart and prayers go out to you. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

  9. When I received the news 2 hours after he took his last breath, I was in a shock. I know he was a good uncle, son, and dad to a lot of people. I lived with him ten years of my life, but I never really got to know him. Sometimes I wish I did. I was the youngest daughter, and he usually took care of me the most.
