Larry Ronald Wrights, 73, of 2567 Mountain Valley Road, Hot Springs, Virginia died Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs, Virginia.
He was born October 22, 1940 in East Berlin, PA, the son of the late Claude Wrights and Esther Kroft.
He retired from Voith Hydro of York, PA and was a veteran of the US Army having served as a US Army Ranger.
Mr. Wrights formerly attended Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin, PA. He was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions fan. He loved to fish, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, whom he married on May 22, 1976, Cheri E. Wrights, of Hot Springs; two sons; Rick Wrights and wife Alicia of Hot Springs, Josh Wrights and wife Heidi of Mount Wolf, PA; a daughter Angie Wrights and fiancé Jason Waltz of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Ashley Cauley and husband Clinton of Hot Springs and Ethan Wrights of Hot Springs; a great grandchild, Parker Cauley of Hot Springs; a brother, Glenn Wrights of York, PA; 3 sister, Louise Heiser of York, Kathleen Brown of Hanover, PA, Lena Reichert of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday June 23, 2014 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Shaver officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
