Angalena Marie Mines, 48, of Millboro, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs.
She was born June 22, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter Dolores Brinkley Mines and the late Ralph Hustion Mines.
Angalena was a graduate of Herford High School in Maryland. After she moved to Virginia with her parents, she went to work as an aide at the Springs Nursing Home. She then went to work as a Home Care Nurse through Alleghany Regional Hospital. She attended Stonewall LPN School where she maintained a 4.0 average. After she became a LPN she worked at Heritage Hall and was a supervisor at Ruxton Center in Staunton. She was a very dedicated nurse who loved her job. Angalena was injured in a car accident in June of 2012. She suffered an amputation due to the accident and her diabetes. She is survived by her mother, Dolores Brinkley Mines of Millboro; an Aunt, Emma Jean Burris of Rural Retreat, Virginia; numerous cousins; Special Friend and Care Giver, Angela Darcus of Millboro; Special Friends, Garland King and Aileen McNeal both of Millboro; her baby kitty cat, Mackenzie and her dog, Annie.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Westminster Chapel with Pastor Punker Robertson, Pastor Larry Brunson, and Reverend Robert Sherrard. A private interment will be in the Mines Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael McNutt, Len Foutz, James Matheny, Dawson Paxton, James Ingram, Brandon Mines, John Ellinger, Garland King and Robbie Robertson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 22 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home; one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Chapel or anytime at the home of Dolores “Dorsey” Mines at 176 Kings Hollow Road, Millboro.
