Arthur Forrest “Hootch” Puffenbarger, 92, of 152 Carloover Drive, Hot Springs, Virginia died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs, Virginia.
He was born November 12, 1921 in Armstrong, Virginia, the son of the late William Benjamin Puffenbarger and Ada Mae Loan Puffenbarger.
Mr. Puffenbarger was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. He was a disabled American Veteran who received the Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster and the two bronze stars.
Mr. Puffenbarger was formerly employed with VEPCO. He was a member of the VFW Post 4204. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved to cut wood with his son-in-law, Clarence.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Jackson Puffenbarger of Hot Springs; two children, Forrest Puffenbarger & wife Juanita of Glen Allen and Virginia Sharon Seaman & husband Tim of Hot Springs; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Jean Peery.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at Union Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Lynn Wright, officiating.
