ArmstrongBettie Rebecca Armstrong, 59, of 103 Crestview Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 09, 2014 at her residence.

She was born July 26, 1954 in Belleville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter Britt Failes, Sr. and June Lee Keyser Failes.

She was employed as a registered nurse at Bath Community Hospital.

Becky was a member of Life Line Ministries; served the county on the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Industrial Development Authority; a supporter of the Bath County Relay for Life; served on the local emergency planning committee; and helped found the local Community Thanksgiving Dinner. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Richard L. Armstrong; two children, Eric A. Neilsen & girlfriend Ashley DeLeon of Irvine, California, Andrew J. Neilsen of Waynesboro, Virginia; a step-daughter, Jessica Hiner of Norfolk, Virginia;  a brother, Walter “B” Failes, Jr. & wife Jan of Vinton, Virginia; a sister, Nancy Brady & husband Scott of Waynesboro, Virginia; and a large, loving extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Life Line Ministries with Reverend Frank Neff, officiating & Reverend Zach Royer, assisting.

  4. I am shocked and saddened to learn of Becky’s passing. It seems like only yesterday we worked together at BCCH . What a lovely woman and superb nurse.
