Betty Jean Bonds
Betty Jean Bonds, 77, of 91 Cubbly Road, Hot Springs, Virginia died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her residence.
She was born October 1, 1937 in Hot Springs, the daughter of the late William Dennis Burger and Margaret Thomas Burger.
Mrs. Bonds retired from the Homestead Resort in the housekeeping department. She was a member of the Healing Springs Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was married to the late Lowell Bonds who preceded her in death on March 7, 2009.
She is survived by three step-children, Carol Arnold of West Virginia, Betty Hicklin of Covington, Virginia and Lowell Bonds, Jr. of Staunton, Virginia; an Aunt, Virginia Faurote of Hot Springs; a cousin and caretaker, Clarence Peery of Hot Springs; and Special Friends Nancy Ryder and Betty Harold both of Hot Springs, Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend John Klink officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harold Peery, Alex Lindsay, Billy Kincaid, Ray Jenkins, John Plogger and David Lindsay.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

So sorry to read about Betty in the Recorder. I haven’t seen her in years but have fond memories of our days at Healing Springs Baptist Church. My sympathies to her family. JoAnn Bogan Smith
