Catherine H. Kershner, 96, of 71 Gatewood Drive, Warm Springs, Virginia died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Bath County Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born January 17, 1917 in Mountain Grove, Virginia, the daughter of the late Asbury Hiner and Lena McCalpin Hiner. She was married to the late Conrad L. Kershner, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kershner was retired from the Homestead Resort laundry department.
She was a member of the Mountain Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kershner enjoyed flowers and taking care of her home. She was a loving mother.
She is survived by a son, David L. Kershner & fiancé Joanne Cunningham of Mountain Grove, Virginia; special friends, Carolyn Boyer and Mildred Hendricks; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Mountain Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Simms officiating and Pastor Dick Boyer, assisting. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Hicks, Joe Keyes, Frankie Chestnut, George Chestnut, Paul Chestnut, Steve Gibson and Cecil Wolfe.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.
