Cathy Lynn Dean, 42, of Richmond, Virginia lost her long, courageous battle with cancer Friday, July 21, 2017 at her home.

She was born July 18, 1975 in Richmond, the daughter of Carson Eugene Dean and Jean Carol Brooks Dean.

Cathy was employed as the office manager for Custom Home Solutions.

She was a person who always put others first.  Cathy enjoyed fishing, the beach, the river, and mostly spending time with friends and family.  She had the biggest heart, the most beautiful smile, and the deepest dimples.  She has touched the lives of everyone she has met.  Her influence was felt by all.  She will be greatly missed.

Cathy is survived by her parents, brothers, Carson Dean, Jr. (Peewee) and Alex Dean (Stink); her loving fiancé, Jason Lee Hinson and his sons Taylor Hinson and Benjamin Hinson; maternal grandparents, Gene and Gladys Brooks of Tappahannock; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who have been very supportive these last few years.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Carson J. and Mable Gertrude Dean.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at Jacob Cleek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Danny Cough, Alex Dean, Carson E. Dean, Jr., Daniel Dean, Johnny Dean, Mike McGowan, Jr., Wayne Dean, Jeremy Schreffler.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.

  2. Heaven gained the most wonderful human being, she is missed by all. Her job as an angel will be to help guide us through the tough days ahead . So sorry for the deep sadness your family is dealing with right now.
