Clara M. Lucas

Clara M. Lucas, 48, of Craigsville, died Wednesday evening at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Clara was born September 2, 1963 in Staunton, Virginia to Donald & Geraldine Ryan Serrett. She married Van A. Lucas on December 15, 1988. She was a home health care provider and served eight years with Interim Health Care. She was a member of Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren, a former member of the Craigsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, and was currently serving with the Goshen Volunteer Rescue Squad. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and enjoyed participating in events with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
She is survived by her husband of twenty three years, Van A. Lucas of Craigsville; her children, Christopher Serrett, Bryan Lucas, and Shelby Lucas, all of Craigsville; four brothers, Russell Serrett & wife Jeanie of Bridgewater, Virginia, Jason Serrett and Ronnie Serrett, both of Gordonsville, Virginia, and James Serrett of Palmyra, Virginia; a sister, Sherry Offield & husband Eugene of Charlottesville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Dominic Lucas, Keith, Austin, Kelsie, and Jamilynn Serrett; a grandbaby to be, Brayden Lucas; special friends, Anna Grainger, Katie Gray, Anna Webster, and Stella Riddle.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Craigsville Community Cemetery with Pastor Mike Herring officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Fox, Paul Burke, Aaron Trotman, Marcus Hubbard, Todd Sublett, and Daryl Sublett.
The family will receive friends from 6:oo p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be submitted at
