Claudia Jackson Puffenbarger, 85, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday,

January 18, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 12, 1930 in Bacova, Virginia, the daughter of the late James Arthur Jackson and Alice Geneva Brinkley Jackson.

She was a devoted housewife and loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mrs. Puffenbarger was a member of Chimney Run Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by two children: a son Forrest Puffenbarger and wife Juanita of Glen Allen, and daughter Sharon Seaman and husband Timm of Hot Springs; a son-in-law Clarence Peery of Hot Springs; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur (Hootch) and a daughter, Wilma Jean Peery.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, at Union Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Viv Utz officiating. Pallbearers will be Tomy Seaman, Paul Peery, Ben Puffenbarger, Alex Lindsay and David Lindsay. Honorary Pallbearer will be Justin Lindsay.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.
