Gray2 Cynthia Ann Beard Gray, 73, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born September 13, 1941 in Olney, Maryland, the daughter of the late Norris James Beard and Agnes Kionka Beard.
She was retired from the Bath County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that she worked at the Homestead Resort as the Night Manager and the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland as a Russian Transcriber.
She was a member of Eden United Methodist Church and active in the Hot Springs Presbyterian Church Women’s Circle. She taught merit badges for the Boy Scouts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She delivered meals for Bath County Meals on Wheels; loved to babysit her grandchildren and many others in the community.
She is survived by her husband, Jerald “Duck” Hubert Gray of Hot Springs; three children, Debbie Williams & husband Gilbert of Hot Springs, Virginia, Ron Gray & wife Johnnie-Lou of Bacova, Virginia, Jerry Gray of Covington, Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Jonathan Williams & wife Casey, Nicholas George, Kristin Power & husband Kevin, Stephanie Gray and Andrew Gray; 5 great grandchildren, Kenzlie, Jacob, Logan, Maddie and Lilly; a sister, Wanda Stoner & husband Bobby of Laurel, Maryland; Special friends, Claudia & Eddie McAllister, Helen McAllister, May-lynn & Bill Bayles, Ted & Gloria Lovell.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Eden United Methodist Church with Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bath County Meals on Wheels or Eden United Methodist Church.

  3. Tom and I were saddened to hear about Cindy’s passing. She was a compassionate and caring person and we considered her a good friend to our family. She deserves praise for all of the help she provided to the scouting program. Her many acts of kindness to her church and community will be missed.
