Dennis Dean Lindsay, 63, of Hardy, Virginia, formerly of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Roanoke Memorial in Roanoke, Virginia.
He was born August 22, 1960, in Bath County, the son of the late Ernest Lewis Lindsay and Dorothy Jane Lindsay.
For over 30 years he was a painter and contractor.
He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, amazing dancer, and incredible Chef. He loved his family, friends, and loved all children.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Vera Laverne McGriff, whom he married on March 20, 1997, a daughter, Lynette Linch of Atlanta, Georgia, 2 stepchildren, Letitia Henry of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Willie McGriff III and wife Darlene of Newport News, Virginia; 2 brothers; Mitchell Beard and wife Lorraine of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Ernest Lindsay, Jr. and wife Lisa of Axton, Virginia; a sister; Doris Lindsay and husband Peter Via of Roanoke, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Beard.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Mansfield officiating.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prayer with the family. I know you will be missed. Although I never really got to know you, but I feel like I did of all the stories and memories Doris shared with me.
