Douglas Wayne Propst, 49, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Monday, November 07, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.
He was born August 13, 1967 in Hot Springs, the son of William Arland Propst and Susan Pearl Shaffier Propst.
Doug was a self-employed logger. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his parents, Arlie and Sue Propst of Warm Springs, Virginia; a son, Dustin Propst of Hot Springs; a granddaughter, Kylee Propst of Hot Springs; a brother; Dale Propst & wife Tittle of Warm Springs; nieces and nephews, Trista Randozzo & husband Joe, Tiffany Ryder & husband Josh, Dalton Propst & wife Hannah, Daren Propst, Jamie Buzzard & wife Brittany; Special Friends, Ed Lowry of Warm Springs and Cresha Lindsay of Hot Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Sue Propst Buzzard.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family & friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
