Earl Edward Allen, 67, of Hot Springs, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his residence.

He was born January 31, 1944 in Alleghany County, Virginia, the son of the late John Wesley Allen and Helen Inez Wilson.

Mr. Allen worked in the culinary department at the Homestead Resort with 38 years of service. He attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was a dear friend to all.

He is survived by three children, Antoni Pondexter       of Caldwell, West Virginia, and Patricia Fields       and Stanley Spriggs both of Charleston, West Virginia; two brothers, Robert    Allen of Charleston and Theodore Buford; 6 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Hamp and Willie; and a sister, Maggie.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Brownsburg Cemetery in Marlinton, West Virginia with Reverend Scott officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.
