IMG_1903Eleanor Neff Trimble, 79, of Millboro, Virginia died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

She was born August 21, 1936 in Millboro, Virginia, the daughter of the late Benjamin Faircloth Neff and Theresa Octavia Scruggs Neff.

Mrs. Trimble was a homemaker. She was a member of Woodland Union Church. She was formerly employed with the Bath County National Bank and a substitute teacher for Bath County School System. She enjoyed going to the Outerbanks. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Floyd Burton Trimble, whom she married on March 28, 1959; four children, Donna Payne & husband Dr. Clifton Payne of Naples, Florida, Michael Trimble & wife Lisa of Warm Springs, Virginia, Rick Trimble & wife Angele of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Mechelle Trimble of Covington, Virginia; five grandchildren, Will Trimble, Adam Trimble, Carey Trimble, Michael Payne, Spenser Trimble; a brother, Wilson Neff & wife Carol of Millboro; four sisters; Dorothy Middleton & husband Bill of Newport News, Virginia, Lois Blackburn & husband Talmadge of Millboro, Mildred Lowry of Clifton Forge, Virginia and Martha Neff Mitchell & husband Johnny of Fishersville, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andraya Trimble.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Reverend Charles Reed officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Will Trimble, Adam Trimble, Carey Trimble, Michael Payne, Spenser Trimble; Doug Wells and Jody Puffenbarger.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Millboro Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 295, Millboro Virginia, 24460.

  1. Sorry to hear of Eleanor’s passing. I worked with her for several years at Bath CO. Nat’l bank. She always had a smile & such a happy way , a joy to be around. our sympathy to all the family.

    • Thoughts and prayers with the family….Growing up sort of in-the-middle-of-no-where (Mclung.Va.) you don’t have many neighbors and my family was lucky to have the Trimbles just up the road. Many fond memories.
