, 47, of 153 North Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Virginia died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia .
He was born June 13, 1964 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of Mrs. Evelyn M. Wright of Hot Springs and the late Oliver C. “Sonny” Wright, Jr.
Ernie served in the United States Navy for 6 years in South East Asia. He worked at the Omni Hotel as a waiter and bar tender. He previously worked at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs. He accepted Christ at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at an early age. He was a 1984 Graduate of Bath County High School. He enjoyed hiking, especially in the mountains of Bath County.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother; Oliver “Mickey” Wright & wife Karen of Stafford, Virginia; a sister, Theresa V. Wright of New York, New York; uncles, Rickey and Charlie Wright of Warm Springs, Virginia, Jackie, Edward & Oliver Matthews of Norfolk, Virginia; a nephew, Raymond Wright of Stafford; aunts, Ethel Payton, Reverend Eunice Lewis of Norfolk, Virginia, Mayrene Lemon and Claudette Scruggs of Hot Springs; and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Reverend W. Ed Mansfield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 11:00 – 12:00 noon at the church.
