Estaline Lois Bower, 98, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
She was born March 2, 1914 in Bath County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles F. McMullen and Hilda G. Rodgers McMullen.
Mrs. Bower was employed as seamstress for an interior decorator. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and attended the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church in Warm Springs, Virginia. She was active in the AARP and enjoyed traveling.
On June 17, 1939 she married Ernest E. Bower who preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by three children, Kathryn “Kitty” Henderson of Hot Springs, Robert E. Bower & wife Barbie of Redmond, Washington and Wayne F. Bower & wife Mary of Cotter, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Bobbi Henderson of Denver, Colorado, Scott Henderson & wife Heidi of Kamas, Utah, John Bower & wife Kelli of Paulsbo, Washington and Rob Bower & wife Lil of Moreno Valley, California; six great grand children; two great great grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence McMullen of Salem, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wayne Henderson; three brothers, Arthur, Conley & Ronnie McMullen; and a sister, Madie McMullen.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church with Reverend Charles Reed officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
