Frank Edward “Ed” Furrow, 66, of Augusta Springs, Virginia died Thursday evening, May 17, 2012 at the Hunter McGuire VA Medical center in Richmond.
He was born June 9, 1945 in Welch, West Virginia, the son of the late Cleve and Gracie Bott Furrow. He was married to his loving wife of twenty one years, Nancy Furrow, and was a member of Craigsville Holiness Church. He worked at the Craigsville Library and most recently, the Augusta Springs Post Office. During the Vietnam War era, Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; five brothers, James, Robert, Harvey, Carl and Jerry; two sisters, Catherine and Francis; and a special great niece, Kaycee Gladwell. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Craigsville Holiness Church with Brothers Garey Wilson and Rodney Olinger officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Wilcher, Hampton Cash, Garry Wilcher, Brian “JR” Moran, Cody Wilcher and Jacob Wiseman.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be submitted at www.mclaughlinandyoung.com.

  9. I’m very sorry to hear about Ed. I never got to meet him in person, but he was very helpful to me in researching the Furrow family (I’m a distant cousin from Franklin County).
