Glenn Charles Williams, 80, of Millboro, Virginia died Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Millboro.
He was born March 10, 1937 in Millboro, the son of the late Glenn Crawford Williams and Florence “Mickey” Miles Williams.
Mr. Williams was retired as a self-employed carpenter and was a veteran of the U.S Army. He was a member of Windy Cove Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and an avid outdoorsman. He loved golf, was a Boy Scout master for many years, a little league coach for baseball and basketball. He served on the Bath County School Board for 13 years, working for our children and community. Mr. Williams loved fishing with his family. He graduated from Valley High School and attended Virginia Tech in the Corp of Cadets.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Lindsay Williams; his children, Glenn Reid Williams of Portsmouth, Virginia, Neal Edward Williams & wife Rosemary of Chesapeake, Virginia, Tracy Richard Williams of Millboro; daughter-in-law, Danielle Williams of Millboro; four grandchildren, Roshelle Williams Beck & husband Chris, Chase Forrest Williams, Loren River Williams, Logan Sky Williams; two great grandchildren, Cole & Remy Beck; two brothers, Dennis Edward Williams & wife Charlotte of North Dallas, Texas and Wayne Forrest Williams & wife Susan of Millboro.
He was preceded in death by a son, Cory Wayne Williams in 2013.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Sherrod officiating. Interment will be in Windy Cove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Millboro.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

So sad to hear of Glenn’s death. He was a class mate of our small 1955 class at Valley High School. Blessings and prayers to Helen and the family.
I was very sad after hearing about Glenn’s death. He was a very good friend and a classmate of ’55. There are many wonderful memories of our younger days at Valley High School and as baseball teammates. My sympathy and condolences go out to Helen and the rest of the family.

I am so sorry I did not find out about this until Tuesday the 9th or I would have been there .I have a lot of wonderful memories of days on Meadow Lane and the family. I didn’t know it at the time of how fortunate we were to live around this farm
My thoughts and prayers for the Glenn Williams family. I have known Glenn and worked under Glenn at Bacova Guild for several years and had the opportunity to fish with him. He will be missed by so many that has known him and his family.
