Grace Christina Adams Gomez, 67, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Friday, June 8, 2018 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.
She was born October 24, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Joseph Leroy Adams and Evelyn Winifred Hans Adams.
Grace was retired from the Homestead Laundry Service.
She was a former member of Macedonia Christian Church of Williamston, North Carolina. She loved to work with her hands creating things and painting.
Grace is survived by her husband, Joseph Vincent Gomez of Hot Springs; children, Christina Lee Mooney and husband Charles of Baltimore, Joseph Adams, Jr. of Baltimore; son-in-law, Kevin Ricketts of Covington, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Shirley Hall and husband Robert of Williamston, Bonnie Weigand and husband Gilbert of Williamston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Ricketts; a grandson, Charles Mooney, Jr.; and a sister, Rose Harp.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Layspeaker Elwood Smith officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Ricketts, Gilbert Weigand, Robert Hall, and Denny Hall.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.
So sorry to hear of Grace’s passing. Grace was always a joy to be around and I always looked forward to seeing or hearing from Grace and Joe when they visited Williamston. Prayers from our entire church for Joe, Bonnie, Shirley, and the entire family.
