Helen Marie Shiflett Wilcher, 86, of Craigsville, passed away Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Helen was born in Craigsville, Virginia on March 1, 1926 to the late Gallant Shiflett & Dora Woods Shiflett. She was married to her loving husband of sixty two years, Clyde Wilcher. Helen was a homemaker and an active member of Craigsville Holiness Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother, and was highly devoted to the Lord and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Wilcher; a son, Larry Wilcher & wife Lady; two daughters, Darlene & husband Loyd Ray, all of Craigsville, and Joyce Hubbard & husband Lonnie of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; a brother, William Shiflett of Craigsville; two sisters, Thelma Woods & husband Gilbert of Craigsville and Dolly Fridley of Staunton, Virginia; five grandchildren, Curtis Wilcher & wife Crystal, Melissa Wilcher, Billy Knight, Michael Hubbard, and Marcus Hubbard & wife Kim, all of Craigsville; six great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; two special nephews, Anthony Shiflett and Shawn Shiflett; and a very special friend Judy Martin of Craigsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Loyd, Albert, Fred, Pat and Dewey Shiflett.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at Craigsville Holiness Church with Brother Garey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Craigsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Sprouse, Gary Wilcher, William Lee Wilcher, Hampton Cash, Danny Martin and Timmy Gladwell. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home. Friends may call anytime at the home of Larry Wilcher, 98 E. Craig Street, Craigsville, Virginia 24430.
