Hope Elaine Wilcher Woods, 48, of Craigsville, Virginia died Tuesday evening, July 17, 2012 at her residence.
Hope was born in Staunton, Virginia on December 11, 1963, to Floyd Wilcher and the late Thades McLain Wilcher. She was married to her husband of thirty years, Ricky Woods. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of the Craigsville Holiness Church. She enjoyed crocheting, but most of all, she loved her family and was devoted to the service of others.
She is survived by her father, Floyd Wilcher of Craigsville; her husband, Ricky Woods of Craigsville; two daughters, Crissy Tubbs and husband Josh of Wetumpka, Alabama, Beth Woods of Craigsville; a son, Clint Woods and wife Heather of Craigsville; a brother, Gary Wilcher and wife Susan of Augusta Springs, Virginia; six grandchildren, Grace, Rachel, Mariah and Sarah Tubbs of Wetumpka, Alabama; McKenzie and Landon Woods of Craigsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Craigsville Holiness Church with Brother Garey Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Craigsville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hampton Cash, Timmy Gladwell, Jacob Wiseman, Phillip Painter, Curtis Wilcher and Christopher Gordon. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home and other times at the home of Kathy Woods in Craigsville.

  1. I was blessed to have Hope in my life. She taught me selflessness, joy, kindness, strength, and bravery. The world was a better place because of Hope. I feel her spirit all around me, and I know she is looking over all those she loved. I will miss her dearly.   3. Hope was a woman who touched everyone she met. Her smile and hugs left everyone with a brighter day, even after she got sick. She will be missed tremendously.   4. I attended elementary school and some high school with Hope, before my family moved to Florida. My memories of Hope are very fond and I was deeply saddened of the news of her passing. Even after 34 years, I can bring to mind pictures of Hope. She was very special. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ricky and their children. Heaven just received their newest angel.

  6. Sorry for the loss of Hope Woods she will never be forgotten. I grew up around her she was a wonderful woman. I really liked her. Praying for all for comfort and peace as Hopes family and friends celebrate the life she had. I will never forget you all Love from Aaron Rudy and family.
