Irene M. Sprouse, 86, of, Craigsville, died Sunday evening, January 22, 2012 at Kings Daughters Community Health.
Mrs. Sprouse was born June 11, 1925 in Craigsville, Virginia, the daughter of William Weaver and Lucy Puckett. She was married to Albert Lewis Sprouse, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of Craigsville Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Sprouse is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Cox & husband Gerald of Craigsville; three sons, James Sprouse & wife Gayle of Craigsville; Tommy Sprouse & fiancé Adele Ramsey of Staunton; and William Sprouse & wife Glenda of Craigsville; her grandchildren, Lisa and Robert Shipplett, Tina and Ray Fisher, Laurie Sprouse and fiancé Randy McCutcheon, Patrick Dudley and Krista Dudley, Jenny Lynn Cox, Brenda Lee Teter, Amy and Stafford Bates; several great grandchildren and nieces & nephews; a special friend, Francis Sprouse of Craigsville; and all of her friends at Kings Daughters Nursing Center. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, John Sprouse.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Craigsville Presbyterian Church with Reverend Olivia Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Craigsville Community Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Fox, John Temple, Freddie Sprouse, Carl White, Kenny Shipplett, and Carl Allen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home.
