James Edward “Mickey” Arnold, 68, of Goshen, Virginia died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
He was born on July 12, 1943 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, the son of the late Charles B. & Dorothy Powell Arnold. He was married to his wife of forty six years, Linda Burke Arnold. He dedicated many years of service with the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Food Service Supervisor at Augusta Correctional Center in Craigsville. He was a member of Little River Presbyterian Church in Goshen, and was a life member of the Goshen First Aid Crew.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Arnold of Goshen; two sons, Donnie Arnold and wife Jennifer, and Barry Arnold and wife Tiffany, all of Goshen; ten grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jacob, Kaleb, Kristopher, Ben, Noah, Adam, Nathaniel, Gabrielle, and Logan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012 at Little River Presbyterian Church in Goshen, Virginia with Pastors Linwood Wilkes, John Haney, and Lloyd Via officiating. Burial will follow at Little River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Ball, Tommy Kennedy, Jeff Grimm, Mike Forbes, Dewey Burke, and Steve Knight, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Goshen First Aid Crew.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Craigsville Funeral Home. Memorial honors will be provided by the Augusta Correctional Center Honor Guard.

    Allow me to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. Mickey was a friend and classmate in
    Emporium, Pa. We attended Junior and Senior High School at Cameron County High. Mickey
    lived across the street from the skating-rink and all the kids congregated there. I can’t begin
    to imagine your pain at this loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda, and boys well you two are men now, I am Mickey’s cousin from your late father in law and my Father Edward were brothers, I am very sorry for your loss I just got my Emporium Paper in the mail today and was shock when I saw his passing. When I think of Mickey I see myself and two more cousin Patty and Judy weir, begging Mickey to drive us around in his shinney red convertable, I am very sorry for your loss, he was a good man.
