  1. To the Family of Jane Mellon: (specifically Mr. Amory Mellon)

Message from kReverend Ed Sears, former McLean Employee in Winston Salem, NC.

    Dear Mr. Mellon (and family)

As I read Jane’s obituary this morning my heart was touched with concern for you and your family. Please know that I have wonderful memories of you (only met Jane a couple of times at the Christmas parties) and the ten years that I spent working for Dan Elkins, Claude Wells and of course you. Since you probably won’t remember me…I shall give you just a note of reminder. I took Bill Whitt’s job in the CD office after he moved to be the Atlanta Terminal Manager. I want you to know that Linda and I will be praying for you and your family. I have done so already this morning. When I left McLean I moved to Tennessee to attend Tennessee Temple University where I received a Graduate Degree in Theology. A number of years later I would find myself back in Winston Salem, pastoring Grace Baptist Church where I have now completed 36 years of service as Senior Pastor.

Several former McLean employees have been associated with me at the church and we have talked often about those “good days there.”

May the love of Christ and the presence of His Divine Spirit rest upon you and your family.
Sincerely, Reverend Ed Sears, Sr. Pastor, Grace Baptist Church
