Janie Catherine Benson, 69, of Craigsville, Virginia died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her residence.
Ms. Benson was born March 29, 1943 in Fordwick, Virginia to the late Richard and Ruth Benson. She was a 1961 graduate of Craigsville High School and worked with the Genesco sewing factory in Verona, Virginia. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Craigsville and enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, and talking with her special friends.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Huffman of Dayton, Virginia; her nephew and best friend, Billy Jordan of Craigsville; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Louis Benson.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at Craigsville Community Cemetery with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating.
