Jeffrey L. Knight, 50, of Staunton, Virginia died Friday, March 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Staunton on March 6, 1963, to Marvin J. Knight and Deltha Jackson. Jeffrey was an avid fisherman who enjoyed watching old movies, going for long walks in the park, and spending time with his cats.
He is survived by his father, Marvin J. Knight of Craigsville, Virginia; his mother, Deltha Jackson of Staunton; two brothers, Jack Knight & wife Christine and James Knight, all of Staunton; three sisters, Elsie Bowman & husband Reggie of Hueytown, Alabama, Adrienne Shifflett & husband James of Verona, Virginia, and Kimberly Martin & husband Michael of Staunton; a half sister, Carolyn Bowden Knight & husband Robert of Craigsville; three step brothers, Kenny Williams, David Williams and Wayne Yount, all of Staunton; a step sister, Amy Williams of Mississippi; a brother-in-law, Darryl Frost, Sr. of Staunton; 22 nieces & nephews;13 great nieces & nephews; and a special friend, Guy Boyd of Stuarts Draft, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Knight, Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Craigsville Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Herring officiating. Interment will follow at Craigsville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Weeks, James Kellison, James Fridley, Brian Shifflet, Eugene Bowden and Billy Shifflett. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Knight, Donald Knight, Arnold Knight, Charles Montgomery, Kenny Williams, Melvin Knight, Jr., Roy Sprouse, Jr. and David Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home.
