Jerome Mann, 69, of 97 Kingtown Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs.
He was born July 6, 1943 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Johnny Johnson and Geraldine Essex Mann. He retired from Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked in the food service & catering department. He was formerly employed at the Homestead Resort and other Country Clubs throughout the United States. Jerome was a loving husband and father who enjoyed hunting, golfing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Four Wheeler Hunt Club in Bath County.
He is survived by his wife, Merlin Mann of Hot Springs; a son, Oliver Mann of New York, NY and Oliver’s mother, Rosa Rivera of Maryland; a step son, Henry Rivera of Maryland; a special uncle and aunt, Deacon Rudolph & Ellen Essex of Warm Springs, Virginia; two nieces, Monique Mann and Stephanie Mann; a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives; special cousins, Ricky Wright & Dee Wright, both of Warm Springs, Rene Lemon of Hot Springs, Gregory, Gil & Charlie Wright, all of Maryland; special friends, Woody Pettus of Warm Springs, Carl Church of Warm Springs, Warren Craven of Hot Springs, Bernard Craven of Hot Springs, and Donald & Buddy Cardwell of Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Virginia Mann and an uncle, John Essex.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Father John McGinnity celebrating. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home.
