Adderton 001 (3)     Jerry Gale Adderton, 72, of Hot Springs, Virginia went to be with the Lord Monday, December 23, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital, Low Moor, Virginia.
He was born April 2, 1941 in Matoaka, West Virginia, the son of the late Jessie and Rosa Coles Adderton.

On August 24, 1968 he married Mary Florence Mitchell. Jerry retired as the Banquet Sales Manager for Sankar Enterprises. Prior to that he worked at the Homestead Resort for 28 years as Room Service Head Waiter and Main Dining Room Head Waiter.

Jerry accepted Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Matoaka, West Virginia. He was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Ministry. He was an associate member of the Bath/Highland Lion/Lioness Club.

Jerry will be remembered for being a good friend and a very kind person. He was an exceptional deacon and missionary who loved the Lord and helping those in need. Jerry’s smile and generosity would brighten your day.

Jerry believed that the ultimate joy of living was found in worshiping God and showing love and compassion to others.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He leaves to cherish very precious memories, his wife of 45 years, Mary Florence Adderton of Hot Springs; a daughter, Jerrila Adderton Paul of Louisville, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Makayla Paul of Louisville; a sister, Barbara Brown & husband Samuel of Beckley, West Virginia;
sisters-in-law, Meridel, Phyllis and Cumi Adderton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and very best friend Hall Owens.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Raymond, Jessie, Jr., Ralph, Donald and Shirley Adderton; and a son-in-law, Diallio “DD” Paul;

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend W. Ed Mansfield officiating. Interment will be in Pinehurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be His nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the area churches.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
