John “Pat” Alexander Lindsay III, 87, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Wednesday, April 01, 2015 at his home.

He was born December 8, 1927 in Bath County, the son of the late John A. Lindsay II and Grace Louella Lawrence Lindsay.

Pat was employed as a farmer most of his life.

He was a veteran of the US Army Medical Core serving in WWII.

Pat was a member of National Radiology Technicians, attended Star Bolar UMC, a member of the Pipefitters Local 491 Roanoke, a retired member of Pipefitters Local 10 Richmond, and the NRA.  He was an avid farmer and outdoorsman, who always told great stories and loved to read.

He is survived by his 4 children: Susan Gail Wilkin of Canton, GA, John Lindsay IV of Warm Springs, Patricia Wollslager and husband Tom of Nottingham, MD, Robbie Kershner and husband Dale of Warm Springs; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother; Carl “Jim” Lindsay and wife Mary of Warm Springs; sister; Pearl Thacker of Lynchburg, VA; other; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Lindsay and a granddaughter, Catherine Elaine Lindsay.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 26, 2015 at Star Bolar United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be in Jacob Cleek Cemetery.
