Kathleen Mae Shiflett, 81, of Craigsville, Virginia, died Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at King’s Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton, Virginia.
Mrs. Shiflett was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on June 13, 1931, to the late Ernest & Sally Ingram. She was married to her husband of 44 years, Fred Shiflett, who preceded her in death in 1995. After retiring from Genesco, she was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing, and was especially fond of her flowers.
She is survived by her children, Linda Hodge of Craigsville, Kenneth Shiflett & wife Sheila of Craigsville, Randy Shiflett & wife Terry of Staunton, and Delores “Sissy” Via of Craigsville; two sisters, Mary Wright of Goshen, Virginia and Rachel McHenry & husband Junior of Craigsville; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Fred “Hopper” Shiflett, Jr.; eight brothers; and a son-in-law, Richard T. Hodge.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Miller Memorial Cemetery in Augusta Springs, Virginia, with Pastor Terry Adkins officiating.
