Kevin Lee McNally, 74, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his residence.

He was born September 8, 1951, in Takoma Park, Maryland, the son of the late James Francis McNally and Trovilla Curtis Suhr McNally.

Kevin was a law enforcement officer with the U.S. Forest Service, retiring in 2006 with over 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam.

He was a member of Virginia Chapel Church and the VFW Post 4204. Kevin was a gentle soul that was kind to everyone. He was a friend to all.

He is survived by  his wife of 32 years, Karen May McNally of Hot Springs; a daughter, Amanda Dawn McNally & husband Michael Boyka of Erie, Colorado; a grandson, Preston Michael Boyka of Erie; three brothers, John McNally of Hanover, Pennsylvania, James McNally & wife Carol of Finksburg, Maryland, Shane McNally & Michele of Hanover; three sisters, Marcia Uanna & husband Steve of Middle River, Maryland, Tammy Bailey of Lutz, Florida, and Lenore Young of Kettering, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Matthew McNally and two brothers, Brian McNally & Harry McNally.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastors Donald Lee Altizer and Bill Gram officiating.

Friends may call anytime at his residence on 41 Laurel Lane, Hot Springs.

  15. Kevin’s commitment to public service can’t be overstated. He was an integral part of the law enforcement team on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. He will always be remembered for his efforts at community policing in the protection of our public lands and Forest visitors. More than that, Kevin was a friend to all. Thanks go to Karen and his family for sharing him with us. May the Lord grant you peace in this difficult time.

    • With a heavy heart my condolences to the entire family. We loved Uncle Kevin and will miss him dearly. I have many memories of fun vacations that I had the pleasure to accompany Mandy and Matthew as a child and would look forward to the family getting together on summer break and holidays. Always feeling welcome as one of his own. I will remember the voice and laughter also kindness for many years to come.
