Craigsville – Larry Cornelius Burke, 56, of 112 Big River Road, Goshen, Virginia, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at his residence.
He was born April 1, 1956 in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Harry Quentin Burke and Sue Marie Colvin Burke.
Mr. Burke was as logger. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to bear hunt and fish; and enjoyed his dogs.
He is survived by his special lady, Debbie Keith of Goshen; 8 children, Jason C. Burke of Goshen, L. Travis Burke of Augusta Springs, Eric Stevens of Goshen, Crystal Burke of Goshen, April A. Burke of Staunton, David Keith of Waynesboro, Kristy Breeden of Crimora and Jenny Talley of Craigsville; 7 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Edward Burke & wife Gail of Augusta Springs, Ronnie Burke & wife Louise of Swoope, Wayne Burke & wife Ann of Augusta Springs and Fred Burke & special friend Debbie of Goshen; and a sister, Nancy Cunningham of Goshen; special friend, Anthony Stephenson of Craigsville.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norris, Elwood and Linwood Burke and an infant brother.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Peoples Baptist Church with Pastor Claude Williams officiating. Interment will be at Little River Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Craigsville Funeral Home.
