Larry Lee McKenney, 83, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, at his home.
He was born December 14, 1942, in Mill Point, West Virginia, the son of the late Sidney Willard McKenney and Nellie May Waugh McKenney.
Larry was a retired laborer for General Shale Brick.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved car races. Larry was an outdoors man.
He is survived by his significant other of 25 years, Ilona Marita Page of Hot Springs, Virginia; four sons, Dallas Aaron McKenney of Waldorf, Maryland, Richard Lee McKenney of Clifton Forge, Virginia, Jonathan Neil McKenney of Clifton Forge, Larry Foscoe of Covington, Virginia; grandchildren, Jennifer McKenney of Staunton, Dakota McKenney of Clifton Forge, Nathan McKenney of Clifton Forge, and Hunter Foscoe of Clifton Forge; three great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Green of Greenbank, West Virginia; daughters-in-law, Mary Mundy of Eagle Rock, Virginia, and Crystal McKenney of Clifton Forge, his former wife, Peggy Carpenter of Hot Springs, Virginia; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa McKenney; and brothers, Donald, Norman, Ivan, Kirby, Victor, and Gary.
The family will have a private memorial at a later time.
Arrangements are being handled by McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

I am sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. We worked at the Homestead Hotel for many years, always friends
My sincerest condolences to all his family. Larry was my 1st. cousin. After he moved away I use to see him now and then when he was driving thru.
