Linda Elizabeth Williams Stoneham

Linda Elizabeth Williams Stoneham, 70, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem Virginia.
She was born April 15, 1945 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Simon Peter Williams and Mabel Hodge Williams.
She retired from the Bath County Treasurers office. Prior to that, she worked at Fast Break, Duck Inn and the ABC Store. When she first moved back to Bath County she was employed with the Homestead Resort as a telephone operator, and then as an Aide at Valley Elementary Public School.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, watching Judge Judy, and was always ready for a game of Scrabble. She loved bird watching and protecting her bird feeders by chasing the squirrels away with her water gun.
She is survived by two children, Chris Stoneham & wife Karen of McGaheysville, Virginia, Kimberly Gant & husband John of Cape Coral, Florida; three grandchildren, Kelsey & Brian Stoneham of McGaheysville, Virginia, John Gant, Jr. of Cape Coral; a great grandchild, Leena Gant; four brothers, James Arnold Williams & wife Veneda of Clinton, Tennessee, Frankie Williams of Sweden, Roy Williams & wife Nancy of Hot Springs, Dennis Williams & wife Ann of Bedford, Virginia; two sisters, Opal Gazzola of Hot Springs and Twila Lee & husband Jim of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leo, Carl & Aubrey Williams; 2 sisters, Vada Lipscomb & Alma Stevenson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Shaver officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m.
